Buck Malen Memorial Concert Is Scheduled for The Hangar
One of the Local 518’s most beloved musicians, Buck Malen passed away earlier this month.
Now the Greater Nippertown music community is coming together to pay tribute to the longtime bassist-songwriter and raise funds to help his family through these troubled times.
Buck-Stock will take place at the Hangar on the Hudson in Troy beginning at 2pm on Sunday, December 18, co-hosted by guitarslingers Scotty Mac and Joe Mele.
Among the many musicians donating their time and talent to the benefit concert are Mac & Harrison, Super 400, the High Rollers featuring Matt Mirabile & Jill Hughes, Big Frank & the Bargain Bingers, the Chris Busone Band, the Lustre Kings, Soul Sky, Johnny Rabb & the Tichy Boys, Frank Daley, Luke McNamee, Dave Schachne and more.
The benefit will also feature a silent auction of Malen’s original photographic prints.
Admission at the door is a suggested $10 minimum donation.

RIP: Buck Malen, 1950-2016
Buck was a great soul. Great musician and had a heart of gold. I remember performing on the bill with him when he was in The Staynz back when P4th in Troy was open and thriving with live music. This “Buck-Stock” event should be a great time and I’m sure Buck will be watching and enjoying. Gus – Blackcat Elliot
