READING/TALK: “Ecopoetics Today” @ UAlbany’s University Art Museum, Albany. A reading and discussion with eco-poets with Evelyn Reilly and James Sherry, moderated by UAlbany assistant professor Michael Leong. 7pm. FREE.

READING: Garth Risk Hallberg @ UAlbany’s Page Hall, Albany. The author reads from his national bestseller “City on Fire” (2015), an epic novel about New York City in the 1970s. It was named a “Best Book of the Year” by The New York Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, NPR and The Atlantic. 8pm. FREE. Also a free seminar at 4:15pm at UAlbany Campus Center’s Assembly Hall.

TALK: Robert Slifkin @ the Clark Art Institute, Williamstown. Presenting the lecture “The New Sense of Fate: Detrital Monumentalism in Postwar American Sculpture,” examining a body of sculpture created following the end of World War II that featured pitted and mottled surfaces, irregular and coarse patination, and figural fragmentation. 5:30pm.
