COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements

In Guilderland, Lucky Strike Social’s Jupiter Hall welcomes country-pop singer — and winner of the third season of NBC-TV’s “The Voice” — Cassadee Pope returns to Greater Nippertown at 9pm on Friday, June 23. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $25 in advance; $30 at the door.

The Low Beat has added several exciting new shows, including J.T. Woodruff of the band Hawthorne Heights, who is playing a solo show at 6pm on Monday, January 23, with support acts In Her Own Words, Woven in Hiatus and Hazing. Tickets are now sale, priced at $13 in advance; $15 at the door. Also of special note is Greg Cartwright of the Reigning Sound, who rolls into the Low Beat at 7pm on Monday, February 6. Tickets are $10 in advance; $12 at the door. And hip-hopster Robb Bank$ headlines at 6pm on Friday, February 24 with support acts Dash, Wifisfuneral, Warhol & Slump God, Ronny J and Ill Chris. Tickets are $20; $50 VIP.

Lake Street Dive, who packed the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall last October, are returning to Greater Nippertown for a concert at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock at 8pm on Monday, February 20. Priced at $55 & $75, tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (January 13).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Last April, Foreigner played Proctors in Schenectady, and there were no original members in the band. Now they’ve been booked to headline at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Joining the band on Foreigner’s 40th anniversary tour will be Cheap Trick and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience. Tickets are slated to go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (January 13).

The inimitable Chandler Travis is gearing up to lead the Catbirds – one of his many bands – into Troy for a show at the Ale House at 9pm on Saturday, January 28.

Pierce the Veil brings their Rest in Space Tour to the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Sunday, March 5. The evening kicks off at 6pm with support acts Falling in Reverse and Crown the Empire. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (January 13), priced at $32 in advance; $35 at the door.

At Crossgates Mall, Rascals plays host to the country music band Parmalee at 9pm on Wednesday, February 8. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $10.

CH-CH-CH-CHANGES: Although Greater Nippertown funkateers the Chronicles were originally advertised to perform at the Bridge Jazz Festival – sharing the stage with Maceo Parker and Cyrille Aimee – at Albany’s Massry Center for the Arts Saturday, February 25 – but they are no longer on the bill.

Alabama-based folk-rock-R&B artist Gabriel Tajeu plays a benefit concert for the Columbia Greene Humane Society at Club Helsinki in Hudson at 7pm on Sunday, April 23. Also coming to Club Helsinki at 9pm on Friday, September 1 are Big Sandy & the Fly-Rite Boys.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Justin Moore has been named the headliner for this summer’s 24th annual Countryfest 2017 at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds. Also announced for the fest are Randy Houser and Michael Ray. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (January 13).

New Orleans trombonist (and Trombone Shorty’s cousin) Glen David Andrews and his band slide back into Greater Nippertown for a Mardi Gras party at the Parish Public House in Albany at 8pm on Thursday, February 23. Tickets are on sale now priced at $20.

The Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany welcomes Electric Guest at 9pm on Friday, March 3 ($10.27 in advance; $12 at the door) and the return of Bassh at 9pm on Saturday, March 4 ($10.27 in advance; $15 at the door).

OPENERS: Four-time Independent Music Award-winner and multi-instrumentalist Rachael Sage has been tapped as the opening act for Beth Hart at The Egg in Albany on Sunday, February 26.
