Times Union Center Announces BIG New Concert
Pink Floyd alum Roger Waters has added a number of new dates to his upcoming Us + Them Tour, including a stop Albany’s Times Union Center at 8pm on Saturday, September 23.
Waters’ new album Is This the Life We Really Want? is set for release sometime soon, although no official date has been announced yet.
The concert tour will also feature songs from the vast Pink Floyd catalog.
Ticket prices for the Times Union Center concert are priced between $52-$196.50 and are slated to go on sale to the general public at 10am on Monday (February 27).
Regarding the new album – Waters’ first new solo recording since 1992’s Amused to Death – he has said, “It’s pondering not just why we are killing the children, it’s also the question of how do we take these moments of love – if we are granted any in our lives – and allow that love to shine on the rest of existence, on others.”
Waters has also indicated in a recent interview that he’s interested in possibly staging Pink Floyd’s 1979 epic The Wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Back in 2012, Waters brought “The Wall” to the Times Union Union Center, and it was a bona fide, mutli-media, over-the-top extravanganza that has come to define arena rock extravaganzas.
The last time Waters came to town, he delivered a mind-boggling multimedia extravaganza production of “The Wall” at the Times Union Center back in 2012.
