Albany’s Upper Room plays host to 2013 International Blues Challenge winner Selwyn Birchwood and his band at 8pm on Thursday, June 15 ($15 & $25), as well as Burlington-based band Iron Eyes Cody with the T Sisters at 8pm on Friday, June 23 ($10 in advance; $15 at the door).
Alejandro Escovedo & the Burn Something Beautiful Band return to the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton at 7pm on Tuesday, June 20. Priced at $25 in advance; $30 at the door, tickets go on sale on Friday (April 21). Also new at the Iron Horse, veteran popster Matthew Sweet takes the stage at 7pm on Wednesday, September 13. Tickets go on sale on Thursday (April 20), priced at $32.50 in advance; $35 at the door.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Albany’s Palace Theatre welcomes Yes featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin and the caped Rick Wakeman. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (April 21).
In Clifton Park, Upstate Concert Hall has announced a batch of new concerts including Parkway Drive with the Word Alive and Wage War at 7:30pm on Thursday, June 22 ($25 in advance; $28 at the door; on sale now); New Found Glory at 8pm on Saturday, July 15 ($22 in advance; $26 at the door; on sale at 12noon on Friday); Royal Blood at 8pm on Monday, July 31 ($22.50 in advance; $25 at the door; on sale at 9am on Friday, April 28); and Cro-Mags with Brick by Brick (CD release party for Thin the Herd), All Out War, Cold as Life and Wrong Move at 7:30pm on Friday, August 18 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door; on sale now).

Founder and former host of the acclaimed radio show “A Prairie Home Companion,” Garrison Keillor teams up with old friends Robin & Linda Williams for an evening of harmony and humor at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield at 7:30pm on Wednesday, November 29. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $60 & $80.
CANCELLED: Mysteryland USA – the four-day EDM fest originally scheduled for the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts from June 9-12 with headliners G-Eazy, LCD Soundsystem and Major Lazer – has been cancelled. Refunds are now available…
Bearsville Theater in Woodstock has added a number of new shows to its calendar including Comedy Night featuring headliner Ronnie Wilkerson with Bobby Good, Barry Ribs and host Rich Shultis at 9pm on Friday, May 12 ($10 in advance; $15 at the door); a free concert by Guns, Girls & Glory at 9pm on Friday, May 26; Professor Louie & the Crowmatix at 9pm on Saturday, May 27 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door); the Paul Green Rock Academy showcase at 8pm on Friday, June 2 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door); and Maria Volonte & Kevin Footer with Mavi Diaz y las Folkies at 8pm on Sunday, July 16 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door).
POSTPONED: Originally scheduled for Thursday (April 20) at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, the concert by guitarist John Pizzarelli has been postponed to 7pm on Friday, June 9… Originally scheduled for Saturday, August 12 at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, the performance by stand-up comedian and “Saturday Night Live” alum Janeane Garofalo has been postponed to 8pm on Saturday, October 21. Tickets are $39.50.
Mountain Park in Holyoke has announced its first concert of the summer, and it’s a slammer – Killswitch Engage with All That Remains, Volumes and Within the Ruins at 6:30pm on Saturday, June 24. Tickets are now on sale priced at $30.
EGG OPENERS: The Nashville-based band Elliot Root has been added as the opening act for Dwight Yoakam at The Egg at 8:30pm on Friday, May 12… Also at The Egg, Louisiana band the Seratones open for Drive-By Truckers at 7:30pm on Tuesday, July 25… And blues singer-guitarist Jontavious Willis opens for TajMo at The Egg at 7:30pm Thursday, August 17.
