FEST: 24-Hour Drone @ Basilica Hudson This Weekend

Basilica Hudson is hosting its third annual 24-Hour Drone this weekend. Subtitled Experiments in Sound and Music, the fest kicks off at at the Hudson venue at 12noon on Saturday (April 29) and continues non-stop through to 12noon on Sunday.

Among the featured performers are Roddy Bottum of Faith No More; Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, who will be performing a site-specific drone work for guitar; Jon Gibson and Jeremy Gibson, who will perform a version of Jon’s seminal avant garde ’70s piece “Visitations”; the premiere of a new interactive drone machine piece by Yonatan Gat, Brian Chase and Matt Ostrowski; Quintron’s Weather Warlock (Upstate edition), one in a series of custom-built weather-controlled analog synthesizers installed at Wave Farm in Acra; Hubble, the mesmerizing solo project of Ben Greenberg; Hudson area musician, inventor and all-around renaissance man Brian Dewan; and the Maine-based Jesus Cactus.
