The 2017 season of free concerts in Scotia’s Freedom Park kicked off with a bang earlier this week.

Fultonville’s bowler-hatted singer-songwriter Sawyer Fredericks – the 2015 winner of NBC-TV’s singing competition “The Voice” – took the stage on Wednesday night, playing to one of the biggest crowds that has filled Freedom Park since it opened in 1976.

Next up on the Freedom Park concert schedule are Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra on Saturday (June 24), ever-popular children’s music trio the Zucchini Brothers on Sunday (June 25) and Celtic rock-pop band the Screaming Orphans on Wednesday (June 28). All shows start at 7pm, and admission is free.

It was a pleasure going to Freedom Park to hear Sawyer Fredericks sing. The spirit of the crowd was happy and felt safe. The parking was generous and we had a great time with good food at Jumping Jacks.
Needless to say with Sawyer Fredericks on the venue and free, It was a treat for all because of his unique style of Folk Music and his magnanimous voice. His new band and style was just perfect and so many of Sawyer’s fans so appreciated seeing him again before he will be touring the U.S. from coast to coast on his “Hide Your Ghost Tour”. —-Hope to be attending more park venue’s this summer. Thank you all so much for your hard work. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Connelly, Saratoga Springs, NY
