MUSIC: Joe Bonamassa @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. The Utica-area guitarslinger has been a regular on the Greater Nippertown scene since he was a chubby 13-year-old playing at Bogie’s and Pauly’s Hotel. 8pm. $66-$156.
MUSIC: Grizzly Bear @ BSP Kingston, Kingston. In support of their new album, Painted Ruins (slated for release on Friday), the bands kicks off a two-night stand. With Delicate Steve. 8:30pm. $48. Also at 8:30pm on Wednesday.
THEATER: “At Home at the Zoo” @ the Unicorn Theatre, Stockbridge. Directed by Eric Hill, Edward Albee’s “At Home at the Zoo (Zoo Story)” joins Albee’s classic 1959 play, “The Zoo Story,” with its prequel, “Homelife” (2004) written 45 years later. 7pm. $52. Through Saturday, August 26.
OPERA: “The Seige of Calais” @ Glimmerglass Opera, Cooperstown. The story of courage and self-sacrifice in the year-long Siege of Calais during the Hundred Years’ War inspired composer Donizetti’s rarely-heard Italian bel canto work. 1:30pm.
MUSIC: The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center’s Spa Little Theater, Saratoga Springs. The program features Mozart’s “Fantasia in D minor for Piano, K. 397” and “Divertimento in E-flat major for Violin, Viola, and Cello, K. 563” as well as Tchaikovsky’s “Selections from Les saisons for Piano, Op. 37b” and “Trio in A minor for Piano, Violin, and Cello, Op. 50.” 8pm.
MUSIC: Rochmon Record Club @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Chuck Vosganian digs deep and wide to present an entertaining, illuminating program of anecdotes, biographical and technical information, and photos all about one album. This month it’s Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. 7pm. $5.
