ART RECEPTION/MUSIC: “Drawing Sound” @ Kleinert/James Arts Center, Woodstock. An installation of graphic scores created by pianist/composer Marilyn Crispell, saxophonist/composer Raymond MacDonald and Jo Ganter, a visual artist based in Scotland. With a performance by Marilyn Crispell, piano; Raymond MacDonald, saxophones; George Burt, guitar; David Rothenberg, clarinets and laptop electronics; and Doug James, drums. 4-7pm.

MUSIC: Los Hacheros @ Riverlink Park, Amsterdam. A band of only five musicians, Los Hacheros can sound like a conjunto of 12. Eddie Venegas plays violin, sings chorus and improvises mambos on the trombone. Itai Kriss sings, plays flute, campana and guiro, while Papote Jimenez is in charge of lead vocals, soulful soneos and congas. William Ash holds down the tumbaos on baby bass, while Jacob Plasse plays the tres, a guitar-like instrument originating from Cuba. 7pm. FREE.
