Joan Baez: Artist/Mischief Maker

If you happen to find yourself in California this month…

Singer-songwriter-Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Joan Baez has her first one-woman gallery exhibition of her paintings at the Seager/Gray Gallery in Mill Valley, California all month long (September 1-October 1).

The title of the exhibit is “Mischief Makers,” who she describes as “people who are willing to accept suffering, but never inflict it, to die for their cause, but never kill for it; and keep a sense of mischief through it all.” Portraits include Martin Luther King Jr., Harry Belafonte, Aung San Suu Kyi, Vaclav Havel, John Lewis, Bob Dylan and more.

A portion of the sales of the paintings will go to Carecen SF, an organization dedicated to assisting Latino and other immigrants, as well as under-resourced families in the San Francisco Bay Area.
