COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements

Welcome to the new goddess-infused jungle, boys and girls. Yes, Paradise Kitty – the all-female Guns N’ Roses tribute band – is preparing to snake their way into Chrome in Waterford on Thursday, October 5. Kicking off the show at 8pm will be Lovable Rejects. Tickets are $10.

Greater Nippertown singer-songwriter Sydney Worthley celebrates the release of her new album, Strong on Saturday (September 9) at Jupiter Hall in Guilderland with Ryan Clark and Zan Strumfeld kicking off the celebration at 8pm. Tickets are $10 in advance; $12 at the door. More newly announced upcoming shows at Jupiter Hall include R.LUM.R at 7pm on Wednesday, November 8 ($13) and the Yonder Mountain String Band at 7pm on Thursday, November 9 ($25).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Lindsey Stirling – just this morning named as a celebrity dancer on the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars” – will be kicking off her holiday tour at Albany’s Palace Theatre. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am Friday (September 8).

New additions to the calendar at Club Helsinki in Hudson include Lloyd Cole at 9pm on Saturday, September 30 ($25); Parsonsfield at 8pm on Wednesday, October 4 ($15); reggae greats Black Uhuru at 9pm on Friday, October 6 ($25 & $35); the latest installment of the Rogovoy Salon with Natalia Zukerman at 7pm on Sunday, October 22 ($15); second generation pop singer-songwriter Louise Goffin at 8pm on Sunday, October 29 ($15).

The Eighth Step has announced that singer-songwriter Cheryl Wheeler will be returning to Proctors’ GE Theatre in Schenectady to kick off the Eighth Step’s 50th anniversary season at 7:30pm on Saturday, September 23. Tickets are $26 in advance; $28 at the door; $50 Gold Circle.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Troy Savings Bank Music Hall welcomes the return of Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (September 8).

Todd Sheaffer (lead singer for From Good Homes and Railroad Earth) is slated to take the stage at Albany’s Hollow Bar + Kitchen at 9pm on Friday, October 6. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $20 in advance; $25 at the door. And Talking Heads tribute band Start Making Sense returns at 9pm on Saturday, October 28 ($20 in advance; $23 at the door).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: John Lodge – the bassist for the Moody Blues – brings his other band to The Egg for his first ever U.S. solo tour. Tickets go on sale at 11am on Friday (September 8).

Summer may be over, but Lake George is still hoppin’. King Neptune’s Pub welcomes Fuel on Thursday, September 14. Tickets are $25; VIP $50.

UPDATE: Singer-songwriter supreme Bryan Thomas – who just released his third EP of the year, Turbulent Indie Negro – has been added to the line-up of performers who are donating their time and talent for the Hurricane Harvey benefit concert at the Low Beat on Friday (September 8).

Lookin’ for some laughs? “Saturday Night Live” alum Jim Breuer steps into the spotlight at the Funny Bone in Guilderland at 7pm on Thursday, October 12. Tickets are $30.

Amy Helm is throwing a pair of album fundraising concerts at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock at 8pm on Friday & Saturday, September 29 & 30. Tickets are $60 & $90.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Jam band pioneers Max Creek are slated to make their Cohoes Music Hall debut. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (September 8).

The Paul Green Rock Academy rolls into the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock with a two-night stand of their Abba Dance Party on Friday & Saturday, September 22 & 23. Tickets are $20.

OPENERS: Carrie Rodriguez has been added as a second support act for Hurray for the Riff Raff at The Egg at 8pm on Friday, September 15, along with Xenia Rubinos.

Montreal-based DJ-producer Snails takes the stage at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 8pm on Tuesday, December 26. Tickets are $25 in advance; $30 at the door.
