MUSIC: The Down Hill Strugglers @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. They’ve released an album on Smithsonian Folkways Recordings and are featured on the soundtrack to the Coen Brothers film, “Inside Llewyn Davis” produced by T-Bone Burnett. Now the Brooklyn-based old-timey trio – featuring Walker Shepard, Jackson Lynch and Eli Smith – returns to the Caffe. 7pm. $20.

READING: James Hart @ the New York State Museum’s Huxley Theatre, Albany. NYS Writers Institute presents “Telling Your Story: The Art of Memoir” with author James Hart reading from his new memoir, “Lucky Jim,” an account of his violent childhood, marriage to pop singer superstar Carly Simon, coming to terms with his gay sexuality, his drug and alcohol addiction and subsequent recovery. 7pm. FREE. Also a free seminar at UAlbany Science Library’s Standish Room at 4:15pm.

MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Hurricane Harvey Relief Benefit Concert @ NaNola, Malta. Featuring music by Factory Radio (8pm), the Bear Bones Project (8:30pm), Soul Sky (9:30pm), Bendt (10:30pm) and Brian LaPoint & the Joints (11:15pm). All donations will go directly to the American Red Cross. 8pm.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Oldtone Roots Music Festival @ the Cool Whisper Farm, North Hillsdale.
