Terrific Texas troubadour James McMurtry is slated to make a return to the Hangar on the Hudson in Troy at 8pm on Saturday, October 28. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $20.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg in Albany is hosting a Performing Arts Showcase featuring the Suitcase Junket, Vanaver Caravan, Ben Sollee & Kentucky Native and more. And admission is FREE.

Veteran folk–rock duo Aztec Two-Step will celebrate the release of Naked (their first album of all-original material since 2004) with a concert at the Eighth Step at Proctors’ GE Theatre in Schenectady at 7:30pm on Saturday, October 14. Tickets are $28 in advance; $30 at the door; $50 Gold Circle.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Comedian-ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is bringing his Passively Aggressive Tour to Albany’s Times Union Center. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Monday (September 25).

Colony in Woodstock has bolstered its upcoming performance schedule with a big batch of new shows including College of St. Rose alum Sylvia Bullett at 8pm on Sunday, September 24 ($20); Sloan Wainwright with Jude Roberts at 8pm on Saturday, September 30 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door); big-buzz comedian Chris Gethard at 9pm on Saturday, October 14 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door); Daddy Long Legs at 8pm on Saturday, October 28 ($12); Terry Reid & the Derelicts with Jennifer Maidman at 8pm on Friday, November 17 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); red-hot rockabilly cat Robert Gordon at 8pm on Saturday, November 18 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door); Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams at 8pm on Saturday, December 2 ($35 in advance; $40 at the door); Robbie Dupree & Friends at 8pm on Sunday, December 10 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door); and Ian Felice at 8pm on Friday, December 22 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: She’s a Grammy Award-winning country singer. She’s starred on Broadway and television. She’s Jennifer Nettles, and she’s slated to return to the Palace Theatre in downtown Albany. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (September 22).

The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park will play host to Last in Line at 8pm on Thursday, November 2, featuring guitarist Vivian Campbell and drummer Vinny Appice, both original members of Dio ($20 in advance; $23 at the door). Also on tap are Glassjaw at 8pm on Monday, November 6 ($19.93 for first 100 tickets; $25 in advance thereafter; $28 at the door); Wage War with Oceans Ate Alaska, Gideon, Varials and Loathe at 6:30pm on Wednesday, December 6 ($15 in advance; $17 at the door); the return of Sublime tribute band Badfish at 8pm on Thursday, January 4 ($18 in advance; $22 at the door); and the Suicide Girls’ Blackheart Burlesque at 8pm on Friday, April 6 ($25, $50 & $75).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Two new shows have been announced for the Troy Savings Bank Music Hallthe Accordion Virtuosi of Russia and the Gershwin Big Band’s American Rhapsody: The Gershwin Songbook. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (September 22).

Bon Iver is headed into the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 8pm on Wednesday, December 6. Priced at $41.50, $56.50 & $76.50, tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am Friday (September 22) with a four-ticket limit.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In addition to their previously announced concert at Proctors in Schenectady, the Pakistani jazz band the Sachal Ensemble is now also scheduled to perform at SPAC’s Spa Little Theater in Saratoga Springs.

It’s a Valentine’s Day show! Hippo Campus rolls into Jupiter Hall in Guilderland at 7pm on Wednesday, February 14. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $16; VIP $79.

Everett “Papadelic” Bradley brings his holiday funk spectacular Holidelic back to Club Helsinki in Hudson for a two-night stand at 9pm on Friday & Saturday, December 22 & 23. Tickets are $25 & $30.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: A Place for Folk’s season of upcoming concerts at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Schenectady’s Whisperdome will feature Ari & Mia, Andrew Finn Magill, Low Lily and Marc Berger.
