MUSIC: The Chandler Travis Philharmonic @ the Hangar on the Hudson, Troy. It’s the return of Chandler, this time with the full nine-piece, pajama-clad Philharmonic in celebration of their best album yet, Waving Kissyhead, Vol. 2 & 1. 8pm. $10.
MUSIC: Lloyd Cole @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Legendary British folk-pop singer-songwriter Lloyd Cole brings his patented blend of catchy melodies and sophisticated, literate songcraft. 9pm. $25.

THEATER: “Antigone in Ferguson” @ Williams College’s ’62 Center for Theatre & Dance, Williamstown. Both compelling theater and searing social justice project, the play is a radical and unlikely staging of Sophocles’s classic tragedy, conceived in response to the 2014 killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Directed by Bryan Doerries and performed by an all-star cast along with a gospel choir featuring police officers, educators and community members from Ferguson. 8pm. $10.
MUSIC: Sonic Spindle Experience @ Cohoes Music Hall, Cohoes. An extrasensory concert happening featuring that features three Greater Nippertown bands – Backward Dreams, Stone Revival Band and The Wheel – playing the music of 1967-1977. 7pm. $28.
FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Troy Irish Festival @ Sage Field, Troy. The inaugural fest features food, adult beverages, dancing, and, of course, Irish music by the Schenectady Pipe Band, Three Irish Voices, HellCat Maggie, the Glengarry Bhoys, the McKrells, the 317 and more. 11:30am-9pm. $20; children under 12 FREE. MUSIC: Sameer Gupta @ MASS MoCA, North Adams. BURLESQUE: Bing Bamboo Room Burlesque @ Hudson Harbor Steak & Seafood House, Albany. Joining prodigal emcee Guy Smiley for this fun-filled evening celebrating BBRB’s 13th anniversary will be Scooter Pie, Chevie Supernova, Cherish & the Shimmy Sisters, Black Orchyd, Pearl Buttons, Maxine de la Obscene, Lady Delish, Hot Toddy, Honey Cummings, Chardonnay la Teese, Roxxi Tart and musical selections by Jack Nemier.
MUSIC: Bobby Long @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The NYC-based British singer-songwriter makes his Caffe debut. He’s working on what will be his fourth album and has just published his second volume of poetry called “Losing My Misery.” With Brian Dunne. 8pm. $18.
MUSIC: Ed Palermo Big Band @ The Falcon, Marlboro. The world’s zaniest big band throws the album release party for The Adventures of Zodd Zundgren, featuring the music of Frank Zappa and Todd Rundgren. 8pm. Donations encouraged.

DANCE/MUSIC: Tango Fire @ The Egg, Albany. Featuring 12 dancers and a quartet of musicians, this fiery ensemble from Buenos Aires combines rawness and sophistication with the seductive and sultry sides of tango, artfully tracing its origins from the streets of Argentina through its evolution into today’s ballroom styles. 8pm. $34.
