The brainchild of Gary Kvistad (the CEO of Woodstock Chimes) with the support of the local community, the biannual Woodstock Drum Boogie Festival was held last month at Woodstock’s Andy Lee Field.

This free, all-day fest featured rhythmic music from around the Hudson Valley and indeed from around the world.

P.O.O.K. (Percussion Orchestra of Kingston) with the Energy Dance Company
Creative Music Studio (avant garde jazz)
North/South Indian Music Project
The Beatbox House (hip-hop percussion solely with the human voice)
Northeast Ghana All Stars (Ghanan dance and percussion)
Jack DeJohnette with Luisito Quintero (percussion) and the legendary David Sancious (keyboards)
Nexus with Prana (percussion with world choral music)
NYU Steel Drum Ensemble
The Big Takeover (ska/reggae)
