MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Wesley Stace’s Cabinet of Wonders @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The novelist-singer-songwriter (aka John Wesley Harding) brings his musical/literary revue to town featuring an all-star line-up including musicians Juliana Hatfield, Tracy Bonham, Suzzy Roche and Hudson’s own Stephin Merritt (Magnetic Fields); novelist Charles Bock; author Daniel Mendelsohn; and comedian Dave Hill. MUSIC: Sam Amidon @ the Half Moon, Hudson. Vermont native now living in London, the singer-songwriter lives at the intersection of rootsy and artsy on his new Nonesuch album, The Following Mountain. With Last Good Tooth. 7:30pm. $12.

MUSIC: Tommy Castro & The Painkillers @ the Upper Room, Albany. Back for his third concert in the past year, the blues guitarslinger (and six-time Blues Music Award winner) and his band step into the spotlight in support of their new album, Stompin’ Ground. 7pm. $25 & $35.

FILM/MUSIC: Silent Film Spectacular @ Albany Public Library Main Branch, Albany.
