Sublime singer-songwriter Jeffrey Foucault is taking over the stage at the Cock ‘n Bull in Galway at 8pm on Friday, March 2. $60 includes dinner (from 5-6:45pm) and the concert.
Led by Katie Staples, British band This Is the Kit makes their Greater Nippertown debut on Thursday, May 24 with a concert at The Linda in Albany in support of their new Rough Trade album, Moonshine Freeze. With Adam Schatz (of Landlady) opening the show at 8pm. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $12. Also at The Linda, Brooklyn singer-songwriter Brian Dunne returns at 8pm on Saturday, March 10. Tickets are $15.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT…YOU’RE TOO LATE: Yes, we round up the weekly new concert announcements for you every Wednesday, but you really should pay attention to Nippertown.com on a daily basis. Last Thursday, we announced John Prine’s upcoming concert at the intimate Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, and the show sold out in a flash.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy is making a tour stop at the Palace Theatre in Albany. Mondo Cozmo opens the show. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (February 16).
Clay Cook of the Zac Brown Band heads into the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany at 9pm on Thursday May 3. Tickets are $15 in advance; $17 at the door. Also new on the schedule for the Hollow, Hawthorne Heights headlines on Wednesday, April 18 with Hotel Books, Sienna Skies and Heavy Things opening at 7pm. Tickets are $15. And Lovely the Band takes over at 9pm on Friday, May 4. Tickets are $10.27-$17.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Festival fever is heating up. The initial line-ups were announced this week for Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival in Croton-on-Hudson and the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill. Tickets for both fests are on sale now.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Legendary jazz fusion drummer Billy Cobham and his band are headed back to The Egg in Albany, revisiting his classic 1974 album, Crosswinds.
Bullet for My Valentine roars into the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 7:30pm on Saturday, May 12 with Trivium and Toothgrinder in support. Tickets are $30 in advance; $33 at the door (on sale at 10am on Friday). And Dark Tranquility and Amorphis co-headline on Sunday, October 14, with Moonspell and Omnium Gatherum kicking off the evening at 7pm. Tickets are $22 in advance; $25 at the door; $65 VIP (on sale at 10am on Saturday, February 24).

Matthew Logan Vasquez (of Delta Spirit) steps into the spotlight at Club Helsinki in Hudson on Saturday, May 19 with Mail the Horse opening the show at 9pm. Tickets are now available, priced at $12 in advance; $15 at the door.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Cohoes Music Hall announced five new shows, including blues-rocker Quinn Sullivan, jazz favorites the Brubeck Brothers Quartet and comedian Rory Albanese, as well as tribute bands Project/Object and Rumours.
Houston rapper Riff Raff brings along DJ Afterthought, John Sisco, Podeezy & DollaBillaGates and 2Stoned to Jupiter Hall in Guilderland on Saturday, March 10. Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door. Meanwhile, guitarslinger Jimi Bell leads Beyond Purple into the hall at 9pm on Friday, March 23 with King Kuel, VICE and the Tom Atkins Band in support. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $10. And there’s a pair of tribute bands on tap as well with dual tribute band BonJourney at 9pm on Friday, April 20 ($10) and Prince tribute show Dean Ford & the Beautiful Ones at 9pm on Saturday, April 21 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door).

Colony in Woodstock plays host to Beatlemania Again at 8pm on Saturday, March 10 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door); Michael Nau & the Mighty Thread at 8pm on Saturday, April 28 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); Josh Ritter with Josh Rouse at 8pm on Thursday, May 10 ($35 in advance; $40 at the door); and Okkervil River with Star Rover at 8pm on Friday, June 15 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door).

The Van Dyck in Schenectady welcomes the Christine Spero Group performing Spero Plays Nyro, an evening of the music of Laura Nyro at 7:30pm on Saturday, April 28. Tickets are available now, priced at $18 in advance; $22 at the door.
POSTPONED: The Leonard Bernstein tribute concert by Jane Monheit, Frank Vignola & the John DiMartino Trio at The Egg’s Swyer Theatre was originally slated for Friday, April 13, but it has been postponed to 8pm on Saturday, October 20.
OPENERS: Dane Terry has snagged the opening act slot for alt-cabaret singer Joseph Keckler at Club Helsinki in Hudson at 9pm on Saturday, February 24… Opening for Ty Dolla $ign at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 8pm on Sunday, March 18 will be Marc E. Bassy, TC Da Loc, Dre Sinatra and Toni Romiti… Curb recording artist Marie Miller will open the show for Five for Fighting at The Egg’s Swyer Theatre on Sunday, March 18… The Big Pink opens for Wolf Alice at Albany’s Hollow Bar + Kitchen on Saturday, April 7.
