The seventh annual FreshGrass festival will take over MASS MoCA’s sprawling, 16-acre North Adams campus Friday-Sunday, September 14-16, presenting three days of bluegrass and progressive roots music, and the fest folks have announced the first round of bands slated to perform. Among the headliners are Trampled by Turtles, Yonder Mountain String Band, Indigo Girls, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder and Rhiannon Giddens.

The music – both traditional and thoroughly contemporary – will be presented on four stages (three outdoors and one indoors), in addition to pop-up concerts to be held all throughout the campus and museum during the weekend. The fest will also feature instrument and industry workshops, demonstrations by local luthiers, a pop-up record store and a bounty of Berkshire harvest-season food and spirits.

Advance three-day adult tickets are now available for $115, with student tickets priced at $99, $46 for kids age 7-16, and free admission for kids 6 and under. VIP FreshPass tickets are also available for $350. FreshGround camping is on sale now for $90, and $120 for RV spots. Single-day tickets may be offered closer to the fest, as space allows.
