The Saratoga Performing Arts Center has added a new attraction to kick off the Freihoffer’s Saratoga Jazz Fest weekend. Acclaimed trumpeter-vocalist Bria Skonberg will be the headline performer at “A Night on Bourbon Street” from 8pm-12midnight on Friday, June 22 at Saratoga’s Canfield Casino in Congress Park. Tickets are $150; VIP $225.

Blue Note recording artist José James presents “Lean On Me: José James celebrates Bill Withers” at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock at 8pm on Friday, June 22 ($30 & $45) before he heads to Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival the next day. Also new on the slate for the studios are Jimmy Vivino & the EastCoast BlueSoul Rockers at 8pm on Saturday, June 23 ($30 & $45) and veteran singer-songwriter Jesse Colin Young at 8pm on Saturday, August 4 ($55 & $75).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Skidmore College’s Tang Museum in Saratoga Springs announced the schedule for its annual free Upbeat on the Roof concert series, including Girl Blue, Wurliday, Golfstrum, Taina Asili, Fenimore Blues, Bear Grass, William Hale and more.

Alt-metalheads Mushroomhead roar into at Chrome in Waterford on Thursday (May 3) with opening acts Vyces, Gabriel & the Apocalypse, Ventana, Blood Sun, The Power and Faced. Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door.

Folk-rockers the PigPen Theatre Co. return to the Williamstown Theatre Festival for a one-night-only concert at 8:30pm on Friday, August 3 at Williams College’s Goodrich Hall. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $30.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In North Adams, MASS MoCA’s Hunter Center welcomes Angel Olsen with Julianna Barwick opening. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (May 4).

Stand-up comedian Kevin Farley (yes, the brother of Chris Farley) steps into the spotlight at the Wood Theater in Glens Falls at 8pm on Friday, May 11. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $20 in advance; $25 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: PS21 in Chatham revealed its summer 2018 schedule of performances, including upcoming concerts by Rory Block, Twisted Pine, the Winifred Horan Trio, Mariachi Flor de Toloache, Diunna Greenleaf & Blue Mercy, the Strait Way Ministries Gospel Choir, the Farah Siraj Trio, Igudesman & Joo and more.

Club Helsinki in Hudson welcomes back Hedda Lettuce, “the world’s first and premiere eco-friendly drag queen,” at 8pm 0n Saturday, June 16 ($20 & $25), powerhouse singer Lindsey Webster at 9pm Saturday, June 23 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door) and Americana singer-songwriter Shannon McNally at 9pm on Friday, July 20 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door), making good after her March show was postponed by a snowstorm.

Woodstock’s Colony plays host to a wide range of new performances, from Colorado indie-popsters Tennis with American Film History at 8pm on Thursday, June 14 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door) to comedian Gilbert Gottfried at 8pm on Saturday, August 11 ($25 in advance; $30 at the door).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall announced new concerts by The Weepies and Kathy Mattea. Tickets are on sale now.

The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park plays host to Bad Wolves on Wednesday, June 20 with Ashes to New and Diamante opening the show at 7:30pm. Tickets are $18 in advance; $20 at the door. Also new of the UCH calendar is Rainbow Kitten Surprise, who take over the stage at 8pm on Wednesday, August 1 in support of their Elektra debut Friend, Love, Freefall. Tickets are $22.50 in advance; $25 at the door. Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10am on Friday (May 4).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg announced a pair of new concerts – the Devon Allman Project with Duane Betts and the harmonica-guitar duo of Magic Dick & Shun Ng. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday (May 4).

Stand-up comedian Lewis Black’s The Joke’s on US Tour lands at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington at 7pm on Sunday, September 23. Known as the king of the rant, Lewis Black uses his trademark style of comedic yelling and animated finger-pointing to skewer anything and anyone that gets under his skin. Tickets are $70 & $95; premium $110 & $130. Renowned jazz musicians John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey will record their syndicated American-songbook radio program, “Radio Deluxe,” live at 8pm on Saturday, December 22. Tickets are $35 & $70; preferred $95; premium $110. Tickets for both shows will be available exclusively to Mahaiwe members at 12noon on Friday (May 4) and will go on sale to the general public at 12noon on Thursday, May 10.
