The Egg Announces Three New Concerts
The Egg has announced three new concerts for the summer season. Tickets for the new show are currently available exclusively to members of The Egg and will go on sale to the general public at 11am on Tuesday (May 15).
Here are the details for the new shows:
JAZZ IS PHSH
Wednesday, June 27, 7:30pm
Featuring Matthew Chase on drums; Felix Pastorius (son of jazz legend Jaco Pastorius) on bass; Dave Grippo (of the Giant Country Horns) on saxophone; Rob Compa (from Dopapod) on guitar; Domi DeGalle on keyboards; and Alicia Aubin on trombone, the band reimagines the music of Phish.
PROFESSOR LOUIE & THE CROWMATIX
Friday, July 6, 7:30pm
Professor Louie & the Crowmatix celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Band’s classic Music From Big Pink, as well as the 25th anniversary of The Band’s reunion album “Jericho.” Accompanied by the Woodstock Horns, Professor Louie (who produced the later recording and performed with members of The Band) will play highlights from the albums, as well as other classics by The Band and Crowmatix originals. Legendary producer John Simon will provide insight into working with The Band on these recordings – and other stories from his new book, “Truth, Lies and Hearsay: A Memoir of a Musical Life In and Out of Rock ‘n Roll.” This concert is a fundraiser for public radio station WEXT on the occasion of its 11th anniversary.
SQUIRREL NUT ZIPPERS
Saturday, August 4, 8pm
Led by the visionary creator Jimbo Mathus, the Squirrel Nut Zippers bring their eclectic fusion of Delta blues, Gypsy jazz and swing in celebration of their first studio recording in 18 years, Beasts of Burgundy.
