FREE FEST: Americade Block Party in Lake George

Organizers of the Americade rally – the annual gathering of motorcycling enthusiasts that draws thousands of visitors to Lake George each summer – have announced the musical line-up for its Block Party, a new 2018 component that turns a section of Lake George’s Canada Street into a pedestrian mall over two days and nights on Friday & Saturday (June 8 & 9). Admission is free and the block party is open to the general public.

The Maine-based Mallet Brothers Band return to Americade as Friday night headliners after their popular appearance in support of Molly Hatchet at last year’s concert, which took place in nearby Wood Park. In the time since, these alt-country rockers have continued to build momentum nationally with appearances at venues and fests across the U.S.

Saturday night headliners Eastbound Jesus are well known to Greater Nippertown fans that like their live music experiences to be a bit on the rowdy side. The band’s self-described tag of Northern Rock combines elements of bluegrass, country and ’70s-style singer-songwriter influences. It’s all just turned up a bit louder.

In addition to the free concert performances, the block party will also feature the Phil Smage Stunt Show, the Busted Knuckles Stunt Tour, riding demonstrations, fun activities and craft beers.

Here’s the complete schedule of bands for the two-day inaugural Americade Block Party this weekend:
