OPERA: The Consul @ SPAC’s Spa Little Theater, Saratoga Springs. Opera Saratoga’s production of Gian Carlo Menotti’s riveting opera delivers a punch as powerful and timely as its subject matter – the struggle for freedom against oppression and the maddening nature of unrelenting bureaucracy. 2pm. MUSIC: Rechorduroys @ Desperate Annie’s, Saratoga Springs. In support of their new, self-titled album. With Comrade Nixon and Burly. 9:30pm. FREE.

FILM: “On Your Marc” @ the Park Theater, Glens Falls. The feature-length documentary follows Marc Summers, the host of Nickelodeon’s “Double Dare” and Food Network’s “Unwrapped,” as he rehearses and develops the live theater show about his life – The Life & Slimes of Marc Summers – that appeared at the Adirondack Theatre Festival last summer. Followed by a talkback with Marc Summers. 7:30pm. $20.

FILM: “Invincible” @ South Pearl Street, Albany. The Bites Camera Action movie series kicks off in front of the Times Union Center. With a meet-and-greet with members of the Albany Empire. Pre-screening activities at 6:30pm; movie at 7:30pm. FREE.
