MUSIC: Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers @ Music Haven in Central Park, Schenectady. The son of legendary Zydeco pioneer Rockin’ Dopsie says, “This is my calling. Zydeco music is in my blood. It is my heart and soul.” It’s a double-dose of Louisiana sounds with the New Breed Brass Band opening the concert. 7pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Upstate Rubdown @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The acoustic septet draws inspiration from every corner (and decade) of America’s musical heritage. Based in the Hudson Valley, the band features Harry D’Agostino on upright bass, Ryan Chappell on mandolin, Dean Mahoney on cajón and Christian Joao on flute and alto/baritone saxophone. The dynamic rhythm section supports a three-part vocal harmony powerhouse of founding members Mary Kenney and Melanie Glenn with recent Nashville-transplant Allison Olender. 7pm. $24.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Falcon Ridge Folk Festival @ Dodds Farm, Hillsdale. OPERA: Cunning Little Vixen @ Glimmerglass Opera, Cooperstown. Director E. Loren Meeker takes a fresh look at Janáček’s woodland fable about a forester, sung by Eric Owens, who stumbles upon a vixen cub and takes her home. MUSIC: The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center @ Saratoga Performing Art Center’s Spa Little Theater, Saratoga Springs. The “In the Old Style ” concert features Schnittke’s “Suite in Old Style for Violin and Piano”; Shostakovich’s “Quintet in G minor for Piano, Two Violins, Viola and Cello, Op. 57”; and Beethoven’s “Quartet in C-sharp minor for Strings, Op. 131.” 3pm.
