FREE: September in the City Art Fair @ DiNapoli Park

The annual September in the City Art Fair art-and-music series is coming back to downtown Albany again next month, returning to DiNapoli Park for the second year.

The free lunchtime series takes place from 11:30am-2pm each Thursday in September showcasing the work of regional artists and crafters, along with a different live musical act providing the soundtrack each week.

Here’s the complete schedule of music at the 2018 September in the City Art Fair series:

September 6: HONEY SLIDER
The folk/rock/blues trio features Caity Gallagher on vocals and keys; Alec Lewis on vocals and guitar; and Will Kidder on bass. Gallagher and Lewis began writing together in 2013 and released their debut album Unearned Unhappiness in 2016. The band recently release the single “Hard to Breathe” and plans to release a seven-song EP this fall.

September 13: JULIA ALSARRAF
The multi-talented artist brings her unique vision of the world into her songwriting. In addition to her own music, she also enjoys working across genres with other musicians, having performed with Greater Nippertown groups (Joy Adler & the Souls of Evolution, My Survival Kit, Walking X-Ray) as well as bands in her hometown of Houston (Cari Q, Left to Write, Remnants of Polaris).

September 20: USELESS DUO
The homegrown Useless Duo has been bringing a mix of old-time jazz, folk and traditional Russian tunes to their audiences since 2016. The group combines elements of music’s past along with a contemporary perspective. They have shared the stage with Ryan Montbleau, the Hot Club of Cowtown and many others.

September 27: GIRL POWER
Girl Power fronted by singer/songwriter Erin Powers has played at various cafes, coffee houses and open mics in and around Greater Nippertown including Caffe Lena, Moon and River Cafe, Professor Java’s and the occasional random street corner.
