Grammy Award-winning rockers The National are playing a very special intimate concert at Hudson Hall in Hudson as a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood. The concert takes place at 7pm on Friday, December 7 and also features a number of other local musicians. Tickets are $50; VIP $500 (includes dinner). At 7pm on Friday, October 12, Hudson Hall plays host to master drummer Bobby Previte’s Rhapsody Band featuring an innovative line-up of musicians, including Zeena Parkins (harp), Fabian Rucker (sax), Jen Shyu (voice, violin), John Medeski (keyboards) and Nels Cline (guitar). Tickets are $30 in advance; $35 at the door. And Brooklyn Raga Massive returns to Hudson Hall to perform a live score to accompany a screening of the 1973 animated sci-fi classic, “Fantastic Planet,” at 7pm on Saturday, November 3. Tickets are $30 in advance; $35 at the door.

The Bearsville Theater in Woodstock has a last-minute addition to its calendar with a fundraiser for Congressional candidate Antonio Delgado at 8:30pm on Saturday. Meet the candidate and hear performances by Cindy Cashdollar, the Jack DeJohnette Trio, Robbie Dupree, John Sebastian, Mike + Ruthy, Happy Traum, Jay Ungar & Molly Mason and more. Tickets are $40 & $100.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Massry Center for the Arts at Albany’s College of Saint Rose has announced its 2018-2019 season of concerts, including Lea Delaria, the Ballroom Thieves, Kaia Kater, Regina Carter, the Aaron Goldberg Trio, the Secret Sisters, Aaron Neville, Maceo Parker and more.

In support of his new debut album, Superette, bassist-composer Chris Lightcap brings his band with the same name to Colony in Woodstock at 8pm on Thursday, September 27, along with special guests guitarist Nels Cline and keyboardist John Medeski. Tickets are $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Also coming up at Colony, blues guitarslinger Sue Foley takes the stage on Friday, October 19 with Big Sister opening the show at 8pm ($15 in advance; $20 at the door).

CH-CH-CH-CHANGES: Tonight’s (Wednesday, September 19) Hops & Harvest Festival at the Empire State Plaza featuring the Infamous Stringdusters, Honeysuckle and the Lonely Heartstring Band was originally slated to begin at 5pm, but showtime has been pushed back to 7:30pm in observance of Yom Kippur. Sublime singer-songwriter Jeffrey Foucault returns to the Cock ‘n Bull in Galway at 8pm on Saturday, October 13 – this time with a full band for a CD release party for his new album, Blood Brothers. Laurie Sargent opens the show. Tickets are $85, which includes a 6pm dinner, gratuity and the performance. And the dynamic Americana duo of Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams takes the stage at 8pm on Thursday, November 1. A four-course dinner and the show is $75.

The Linda in Albany has bolstered its concert calendar with the additions of acclaimed Malian musician Mamadou Kelly at 8pm on Saturday, October 6 ($20) and powerhouse soul singer Kat Wright at 8pm on Saturday, November 10 ($15).

The outdoor concert season ain’t quite over yet… Brown’s Brewing Co. in Troy is hosting a pair of free outdoor fall concerts next month – the Blue Stones with The LateShift at 6pm on Thursday, October 4; and the Moth and the Flame with The Parlor at 6pm on Thursday, October 11.

Comedian, metalhead and “Saturday Night Live” alum Jim Breuer will rule the stage at The Egg in Albany at 8pm on Friday, November 16. Priced at $29.50 & $39.50, tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (September 21).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Children’s music superstar Laurie Berkner is slated to take over the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (September 21).

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason (Traffic, Fleetwood Mac, etc.) is headed into Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock at 8pm on Saturday, November 10. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $65 & $100. And at 8pm on Saturday, December 8, the Barr Brothers will take the stage. Tickets are $25 & $40.

CANCELLED: The concert by Peter Case (The Nerves, The Plimsouls) at Woodstock’s Colony that was originally scheduled for tonight (Wednesday, September 19) has been cancelled…

In Hudson, Club Helsinki has added a batch of new shows, including Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn at 8pm Friday, November 2 ($45 & $55); Troika: An Evening of Faerietale Dream Music with Dust Bowl Faeries, Luis Mojica & Fredo Viola at 8pm on Sunday, November 18 ($10); the long-awaited return of The Wiyos at 9pm Friday, November 30 ($18) and Mark Gamsjager & the Lustre Kings’ Elvis Birthday Bash at 9pm on Saturday, January 19 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door).

Boston-based Ezekiel’s Wheels Klezmer Band is coming to Jupiter Hall in Guilderland for a matinee concert at 2pm on Sunday, October 21. Advance tickets are $25 in advance; $30 at the door; students & seniors $20 in advance; $25 at the door.

Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady welcomes Tom Petty tribute band The PettyBreakers for a concert at the Event Center at 8pm on Saturday, October 6.

OPENERS: Screaming Females have been added as the opening act for The Breeders at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on 8pm on Sunday, October 28.
