THEATER/FUNDRAISER: The Vagina Monologues @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. YWCA Northeastern NY presents Eve Ensler’s theater work with familiar faces from Greater Nippertown performing your favorite VM monologues. Hosted by Subrina Dhammi from WNYT-TV, the event is a benefit for YWCA NENY’s Domestic Violence Programs. 7pm. $28.

THEATER: Into the River I Went @ Superior Merchandise, Troy. Directed by Margaret Hall, Troy Foundry Theatre presents a reading of Nelson Diaz-Marcano’s play. Raquel and Ben are high school sweethearts who have gotten engaged to the dismay of his sister, Janet. Since the day they met, the two women have been pitted against each other by class, culture and gender expectations. Suddenly they find themselves forced to work together to fight a violent beast that stalks them. Can they come to an understanding in time or will they fall prey to the beast? 8pm. FREE.

TALK: Melanie Wallace @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall, Albany. The Emmy and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker and senior series producer of “NOVA,” the most-watched and longest-running prime time science series on American television presents “History, Science and Truth in the 21st Century,” with film clips and Q&A. 7pm. PARTICIPATORY FILM: “Rocky Horror Picture Show” @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. The Kids of Albany shadowcast welcomes back the kinky and outrageous musical spoof of classic horror films. 7pm. $10.
