This rendition of AC/DC’s classic “Highway to Hell” – sung by the Dust Bowl Faeries’ Ryder Cooley – is featured on piano man Tony Kieraldo’s new album, Milk Money. Kieraldo and friends will celebrate the release of the new album on Sunday, January 13 at Club Helsinki in Hudson. The Xylopholks kick off the festivities at 8pm. Tickets are $12.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The annual Wheels of Soul Tour will be rolling into the Saratoga Performing Arts Center again this summer with with the Tedeschi Trucks Band headlining. The opening acts will be Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am Friday (December 14).
Beantown rockabilly faves Jittery Jack & Miss Amy Griffin make a stop at the Hangar on the Hudson in Troy on Saturday, January 19, as part of their Boston-to-Austin Tour. Sean Mencher kicks off the evening’s festivities at 8pm. Tickets are $10. Also headed into The Hangar are Daddy Long Legs, Norton Records’ kings of boppin’ blues, trash-rockin’, boogie woogie, who take the stage on Thursday, January 31. The Televisionaries and Slik Nik & th’ Tex’s Playboys open things up at 7pm. Admission is $10.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Currently breaking bigtime with her acclaimed album, Be the Cowboy, Mitski is coming to MASS MoCA’s Hunter Center in North Adams with Jay Som opening the show. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am Friday (December 14).
Lucy Dacus – whose sophomore album Historian is popping up on lots of Best of 2018 lists – will be making a pair of Greater Nippertown performances in the coming year. She’s headed into Colony in Woodstock on Friday, March 15, followed by a stop at Pearl Street in Northampton on Saturday, March 16. Mal Blum and Fenne Lily will open both shows.

Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock has added a handful of new shows to its schedule, including a two-night of the Rock Academy’s Tribute to Stevie Nicks at 7pm on Friday & Saturday, January 11 & 12 ($20); The Song & The Story: Amy Helm & Cindy Cashdollar with Freddy & Francine opening at 8pm Friday, February 8 ($45, $60 & $65); The Weight Band at 8pm Saturday, February 16 ($45 & $75); and singer-songwriter Son Little at 8pm Saturday, March 2 ($30, $40 & $45).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg really upped the ante this week, announcing a big batch of upcoming concerts, including Adrian Belew, Rickie Lee Jones, the Joshua Redman Quartet, Janis Ian, Livingston Taylor, George Winston and Harry Allen with the Michael Benedict Trio. Tickets to Adrian Belew are on sale now; the rest go on sale to the general public at 11am Friday (December 14).
In support of their new album, Palms, rockers Thrice are gearing up to invade the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 8pm Thursday, January 31 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door; on sale now). Also, the double-bill of Deafheaven and Baroness rumbles into UCH on Sunday, April 7 with Zeal & Ardor opening the show at 7:30pm ($25 in advance; $28 at the door; on sale at 10am Friday).

Next up from the folks at Jazzstock is the John Menegon Quartet paying tribute to the music of George Shearing at Senate Garage in Kingston at 7:30pm on Friday, January 11. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $25.

I’m sure the Mendelssohn Club concert this Friday night looked sold out earlier this week, but their subscription and member pre-sale is over so some more tickets have been released to the Egg box office and are now available.
