OPEN MIC POETRY: Poets Speak Loud @ McGeary’s Pub, Albany. The last Monday of the month reading series celebrates its 14th anniversary with its annual tribute to the late Tom Nattell, Greater Nippertown poet and community activist, who passed away the same day the poetry series began, January 31, 2005. He had been scheduled to be the first featured reader at the new series but died of cancer earlier that day. The open mic was held that night as a celebration of his life and work. The evening will begin with the annual Tom Nattell Beret Toss at the Robert Burns statue in Washington Park at 6:30pm. 7pm sign-up; 8pm readings. $3 suggested donation.

MUSIC: Richard Lloyd @ The Falcon, Marlboro. The proto-punk guitarist and co-founder of Television plays in support of his latest album, The Countdown. 8pm. Donations encouraged.

MUSIC: Super Dark Monday @ Desperate Annie’s, Saratoga Springs. Featuring Let Bēt. With Brain Medicine. 9pm. FREE.

PANEL DISCUSSION: “The Lessons of Hurricane Maria: The Hurricane, the Response, Preparing for Future Disasters” @ UAlbany’s Page Hall, Albany. New York State Writers Institute presents a distinguished panel from diverse fields to address questions regarding the ongoing humanitarian crisis and its lessons for the future. 7:30pm. FREE.

OPEN MIC: Monday Open Mic @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. 7pm sign-up; 7:30pm music. $3; students FREE.
