In celebration of the 50-year anniversary of the 1969 Woodstock music festival, the legendary rock/proto-punk band The Fugs will perform their farewell concert at the Byrdcliffe Barn in Woodstock on Saturday, August 17. Formed in 1964 by poets Ed Sanders and Tuli Kupferberg, the Fugs are a wild mix of intellectual and raunchy counter-culturalism whose anthems include “Kill for Peace,” “CIA Man” and “Nothing.” Tickets are $30.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Skyloft – the new music venue in Guilderland that’s slated to open its door next month – has announced more than two down upcoming concerts, including Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, the Weight Band, the Felice Brothers, Max Weinberg’s Jukebox, Eaglemania, Twin Peaks, Post Animal, Kashmir, the New Mastersounds, Zach Deputy, Gary Hoey, X, the Fresh Kids of Bel Air, Sleep, Big Business, the Englishtown Project, The Outlaws, KICK: The INXS Experience, Dumpstaphunk, The Growlers, Real Estate, Tab Benoit, Jessie’s Girl, John Waite, The Pettybreakers, Upstate, Journeyman, Shun Ng and Of Montreal. Tickets are on sale now.

The Hangar on the Hudson is hosting a Troy Night Out bash at 8pm on Friday, March 29 featuring the Front Business, Victory Soul Orchestra and Geoff Gordon. Tickets are $10. Sarah Borges & the Broken Singles step into the spotlight at 8pm on Saturday, March 30. Tickets are $15.

Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys return to Club Helsinki in Hudson at 9pm on Friday, November 8.

Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park has added a batch of new shows to its concert calendar, including Smokepurpp with Johnny2Phones at 8pm on Friday, March 29 ($30 in advance; $33 at the door); Granger Smith featuring “Earl Dibbles Jr.” at 8pm on Friday, April 19 ($25 in advance; $28 at the door); Action Bronson’s White Bronco Tour at 8pm on Thursday, April 25 ($32.50 in advance; $35 at the door); Ally & AJ at 8pm on Thursday, May 16 ($25 in advance; $28 at the door); and I Prevail with Issues and Justin Stone at 7:25pm on Monday, July 22 ($33.50 in advance; $36.50 at the door).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: There’s gonna be some headbangin’ at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center this summer when Slipknot roars into the Spa City amphitheater with Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am Friday (March 8).

Rap star Jim Jones takes over Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, May 11. He’ll be joined by DJ King Bully and hostess Keisha Renee. Tickets are priced at $30 in advance; $35 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Garcia Project is returning to the Cohoes Music Hall. Tickets are on sale now.

Capital District Jazz presents the PEM Tiny Band – featuring valve trombonist Phil Allen, cellist Ed Green and guitarist Mark Kleinhaut – as the next concert in the Jazz at the Spring series. The concert will take place at Saratoga Springs’ Spring Street Gallery at 7:30pm on Thursday, March 28. Tickets are $15.

CANCELLED: The concert by Delta bluesman Rev. Sekou that was slated for 8pm on Friday (March 8) at The Linda in Albany has been cancelled.

SOLD OUT: Both concerts by Darlingside that are slated for Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs on Thursday, April 11 (6:30 & 8:30pm) are now officially sold out…
