THURSDAY: Peter Case @ The Linda, Albany. Te three time Grammy nominee and sublime singer-songwriter spans genres from power pop (The Nerves, The Plimsouls) to folk and blues (2010’s Wig and 2007’s Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John). 8pm. $20.

TALK: Roger McNamee @ UAlbany’s Page Hall, Albany. Early mentor to Mark Zuckerberg and a prominent critic of Facebook’s impact on American Democracy, the author lands in Albany in support of his New York Times Bestseller, “Zucked.” 7:30pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Storm Large & Le Bonheur @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. The musician, actor, playwright and author shot to national prominence as a contestant on the CBS show “Rock Star: Supernova,” where despite having been eliminated in the semifinals, Storm built a fan base that continues to follow her around the world. $45. 7:30pm.

THEATER: Men on Boats @ Skidmore College’s Black Box Theater, Saratoga Springs. Last chance! Directed by Nina Slowinski, Jaclyn Backhaus’ irreverent and raucous play puts a gender twist on the white male explorers of U.S. Manifest Destiny. 8pm. $12; students/seniors $8.

THEATER: Our Country’s Good @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center, Albany. Timberlake Wertenbaker’s play tells the story of England’s first penal colony in Australia and the desire of a young officer to direct a play with the convicts which ignites a fiery debate over whether prisoners can be rehabilitated. 7pm. $22; students/seniors $17. Through Sunday.
