LIVE: The Chuck Lamb Trio @ Caffe Lena, 1/8/19

The multi-talented Scott Robinson was January’s special guest at the Chuck Lamb Trio’s monthly jazz series at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, displaying his virtuosity on three instruments during two sets of standards and originals. He was equally skilled on tenor saxophone, trumpet and a Turkish instrument known as a taragato.

The other musicians in the quartet were pianist Chuck Lamb, bassist John Menegon and the swingin’ drummer Graeme Francis.

The monthly series took a break in February to make room for a two-night stand by the world famous South African a cappella ensemble Ladysmith Black Mambazo, but the jazz series resumes at 7pm tonight (Tuesday, March 12) with the Chuck Lamb Trio with special guest saxophonist Harry Allen. Tickets are $27.
