WAMC_FM’s Performing Arts Studio The Linda has announced a handful of new concerts for the upcoming spring and summer seasons.
Here’s are the details:
CLEARWATER 50th/100th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT
Sunday, April 7, 3pm
$20; kids $10
Featuring Thomasina Winslow, Three Quarter North, the Bounce-Back Band and Elizabeth Straton. Hosted by Wanda Fischer. A benefit for North River Friends of Clearwater’s effort to provide local youth groups educational sails aboard the Sloop Clearwater.
THE CORVETTES DOO WOP REVUE
Friday, May 10, 8pm
$20 in advance; $25 at the door
Dedicated to preserving and performing the music of the 1950’s doo wop era, The Corvettes perform the great music of the doo wop era with a fresh new energy. Their entertaining show and comical stage antics have left many a happy audience screaming for more.
PAA KOW & HIS AFRO FUSION ORCHESTRA
Saturday, June 29, 8pm
$15 in advance; $20 at the door
Ghana born drummer-composer Paa Kow has recently produced his third studio album, Cookpot, which takes listeners on a journey that boldly explores the music of the African Diaspora by fusing Ghanaian highlife with elements of jazz, funk, and African pop to create his unique Afro-Fusion sound.
