It’s an all-star jazz concert featuring Grammy Award-winning vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant and pianist-music director Christian Sands with trumpeter-vocalist Bria Skonberg, saxophonist Melissa Aldana, drummer-vocalist Jamison Ross and bassist Yasushi Nakamura. 7:30pm. $32 & $39.
TALK/MUSIC: Steve Parish @ Parish Public House, Albany. Parish has been a primary member of the Grateful Dead family for 50 years, first joining the band as a roadie in 1969. He soon became Jerry Garcia’s trusted gear handler and managed the Jerry Garcia Band. He was Garcia’s best man at his wedding, was at his bedside when he fell in to a coma in 1986, and was the last friend to see Jerry before his untimely death in 1995. Now he’s bringing his “The Big Steve Hour,” normally hosted at Bob Weir’s Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, out on the road, accompanied by guitarist Katie Skene. Followed by The Wheel. 7pm. $20.
