THEATER: An Evening with C.S. Lewis @ Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. A performance by British actor David Payne. With a Q&A session following the performance. Yes, it’s billed as “An Evening with…,” but the performance starts at 3pm. $15, $25, $35 & $45.
MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Skip Parsons’ Riverboat Jazz Band @ Hibernian Hall, Albany. Dinner and music to raise funds for the Albany Marching Falcons to take part in the 75th anniversary of the D-Day celebration in France. 3pm. $10 suggested donation.
MUSIC: Golfstrom @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Golfstrom’s romantic and nostalgic Eastern European repertoire features the giant accordion of Russian singer and musician Sergei Nirenberg, accompanied by Greater Nippertown all-stars Bobby Kendall (bass), Jonathan Green (clarinet) and Brian Melick (percussion). 7pm. $20.

MUSIC: Garfield Moore @ Bridge Street Theatre, Catskill. The virtuoso classical cellist returns to Catskill with pianist James Fitzwilliam for a recital of masterworks including Antonio Vivaldi’s “Largo for Cello and Piano,” George Frederic Handel’s “Sonata in G,” Ludwig von Beethoven’s “Sonata in A, Op. 69, #3” and Johannes Brahms’ “Sonata in E for Piano and Cello, Opus 38.” 2pm. $15; students $10.
MUSIC: Tony Holt & the Wildwood Valley Boys @ the Parting Glass Pub, Saratoga Springs. The Adirondack Bluegrass League presents its monthly concert. With the Warren County Ramblers. 1pm.
MUSIC: Schenectady Symphony Orchestra @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. With featured soloist Susan Kokernak. Music by Respighi, Bartók, Albinoni, Rota and Tchaikovsky. 3pm. $18.
MUSIC: Capital Region Wind Ensemble @ Schenectady County Community College’s Carl B. Taylor Auditorium, Schenectady. Exploring the intersection of classical music and wind ensemble literature as world famous tenor saxophonist James Houlik joins CRWE to unveil the Classical Concerto, for tenor saxophone and wind ensemble by Eric Ewazen. The program also features Norman Dello Joio’s Fantasies on a Theme by Haydn and concludes with Vincent Persichetti’s Symphony No. 6 for Band as 25 select high school students join CRWE for the annual side-by-side performance. 3pm. $10; students $8.
WORKSHOP: Carl Allen’s “The Drummer IS a Musician” @ Rocky’s Music Studio, North Greenbush. The world class drummer, educator, and clinician’s resume includes some of the biggest names in music including performing with Michael and Randy Brecker, Herbie Hancock, Brandford Marsalis, Sammy Davis Jr. and legendary trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, in addition to numerous recording as a bandleader. 2pm. $25.
