BLACKOUT! Creative Festival in August Celebrating Black Culture

Saturday, August 24th at Jennings Landing in Albany, Citizen Action of NY and Five Spades group are offering a cultural celebration of black culture. Called “BLACKOUT!,” the festival is a free, day-long event with vendors, music, and family fun.

The Blackout Festival is being called “a love letter” to the community. It is the iteration of Black August, a commemoration of Black resistance movements and the fight for equal rights and liberation.

The six-hour festival is full of music, performances from local artists, free BBQ, vendors. spades ♠️, chess ♟, kids corner, an additional Afrofuturistic venue, double Dutch, your favorite DJ TGIF, and the illest dance 😉 contest ever!

This event is for families, singles, your Aunt & Uncle, your favorite cousin and your Bae!
