Washington Park Farmer’s Market set for Every Saturday in August and September
This Saturday, August 3rd begins the grand opening of the Washington Park Farmer’s Market. Every Saturday of August and September will host an array of local vendors from 10 am to 2 pm. The market will be set up along Knox Street Mall, which most people know as the walkway across from the unofficial dog park. The farmers market is set to host fresh produce, hot foods, crafts and much more while creating an opportunity to support and buy local. Please note for Larkfest on Sept 21st, the Farmer’s Market will be on Lark Street.

Prior to the farmers market, Lark Street Yoga will be hosting yoga classes in the park from 9 am to 10 am. Yoga will be set up on the grass between the Moses Memorial Fountain (tulip bed area) and Knox Street Mall. The classes are donation-based ($5-10) with instructor Alyssa Ladzinski, whose been teaching for about a year at Lake Street Yoga. The classes will be beginner-friendly/all levels Vinyasa, working on gentle flexibility and mobility. Alyssa has words of encouragement for those who’ve never tried yoga before, “Practice will be fun, welcoming and inclusive to all walks of life. You’ll be surprised by what your body and mind are capable of and how a simple yoga practice can set a positive tone for your day.” Please note for the previously scheduled event, Latin Fest on Aug 24th, yoga will be moved to Hudson Park.
