Agudat Achim Hosts 41st Carrot Festival September 8th

Temple Agudat Achim is set to host its 41st Carrot Festival in Niskayuna, New York on Sunday, September 8th. This year, the musical performance will be headlined by American Idol favorite Madison VanDenburg.

Rooted in tradition, the festival features traditional Jewish food, local crafts, a petting zoo, and music performances, along with plenty of carrot cake for all to enjoy.

The temple originally hosted the festival as a fundraising effort to afford to pave their parking lot. It has grown since that time when temple members Paul and Rose Westheimer owned The Carrot Barn in Schoharie Valley. The festival now includes pony rides, local produce (beyond carrots), and interactive activities for young and old alike.

The festival runs from 10 am to 4 pm, rain or shine. Shuttle service is available from St. Kateri Church on Union Street. Agudat Achim is located on Route 7, just outside of Schenectady. Look for the giant carrot; you can’t miss it!
