LIVE: Chuck Lamb Trio with Jim Snidero @ Caffe Lena 10/8/2019

The October special guest at Chuck Lamb’s monthly jazz series at Caffe Lena was alto saxophonist and jazz educator Jim Snidero. Jim led the quartet through 2 sets of standards and originals ranging from bossa novas to blues.

Among the originals were the world premiere of “Han”, a Korean concept of sorrow and resignation and “Waves of Calm”, a reflection of his father’s struggles with Parkinson’s. However, all was not doom and gloom, there was a groove driven cover of “Nat Adderly’s “Work Song” and the lively Sonny Rollin’s “Without a Song as well as Chuck’s original composition “ North by Northwest.

Along with Chuck and Jim, the in the pocket rhythm section featured Rich Syracuse on bass and the debut appearance of Jason Tiemann on drums.

The series will continue on November 12^th.
