Chris’s Short Take: Troy Chowderfest 2019

An estimated 20,000 hungry participants took to the streets of Troy for the 13th Annual Troy Chowderfest on a sunny Sunday the 13th.  Booths and storefronts all over downtown served up 20 different chowders from Vegan to classic New England style, along with craft brewers, and vendors of all descriptions.  Folks could purchase tickets at several locations downtown to cash in for samples, and did they ever.

The line literally went “Around the corner” at St. Anthony’s of Padua!
Even the kids got in on the act!
Even off Monument Square, McAddy’s (formerly Holmes and Watson) was serving up the goods!
A pleasant stroll wherever you turned,…
It wasn’t all chowder by any means!
A bottle of bubbly at Plumb!

All in all, it was a great event, perfect weather, not cold enough to discourage strollers yet cool enough to enjoy the chowders!  If you’re into food, Troy has it going on!
