Dori Freeman to Shine at The Cock ‘n Bull October 17

Dori Freeman, an original songwriter and musician, is bringing her Appalachian sound all the way from Galax, Virginia to Galway’s The Cock ‘n Bull on October 17th at 7:30 pm.

Freeman is known for her smooth vocals and Americana style guitar playing paired telling stories of love and loss. She has been rising to fame since her self-titled album was noticed by Rolling Stone Country as a “major contender” for Americana album of the year.

Freeman’s music is a unique mix of old style country with newer Americana themes. She sings about being a real human being, and unlike many from her region, sings about her bluegrass culture from a place of knowing about kindness (rather than poverty and hillbilly stereotypes).

The Cock ‘n Bull will be an ideal setting for her music. The historic barn has acoustics that bring out the harmonies and undertones of classic country music, and Dori Freeman, who will be promoting her new album, Every Single Star, is sure to shine.

Advance reservations are highly recommended, especially if interested in dinner before the show. The Cock ‘n Bull boasts a uniquely gourmet menu that features beef (no surprise) and other farm to table dishes. Serving a full selection of craft beers and local wines, The Cock ‘n Bull will round out the concert experience with a full tummy, too.

Dori is regional treasure who is spreading the soul of the region through song. She comes from a musical family that has this music tin their soul. My good friend and classmate Sandy and Dave Stoll turned us on to the cock and bull. It should be a wonderful show. Hello from Wytheville Va.
