Caffe Lena Sending Off Mark & Jill to Blues Challenge January 18th

Caffe Lena has announced a concert send off for Mark and Jill on January 18th. The musicians are representing the Capital Region Blues Network in the International Blues Challenge.

Mark and Jill are a powerful duo of American root blues meets soulful country Texas Smoke. Together these two are steeped in the American musical roots of gospel, jazz, and blues bringing you intimate originals, and soulful ballads. The Seasoned Saratoga blues man, and NY Blues hall of fame inductee Mark Tolstrup is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, recording artist and performer playing the guitar and the tenor banjo. He has been gracing the stages of a wide variety of performance settings with his masterful guitar playing and that howling delta slide. He is honored to have been nominated for Album of the year and Blues artist of the year at The Proctors Eddies Music Awards 2019. Jill was born, raised and soaked in Southern Gospel, Blues, Country and Southern Folk/Rock music. She knows just when to bring out that soulful Texas Smoke, and when to whisper those soft haunting harmonies. She is a vocalist who has been involved in theater productions as well as currently performing with the Albany based Pink Floyd Tribute Band, Dark Sarcasm singing choral, harmony, and backup vocals. She is always seen smiling, and tapping along with the rhythm, her shine is sure to keep you smiling too. Come watch these two meld their vision and talent for a taste of New Orleans meets Austin, this is where the Delta meets the Rio Grande.
