London Comedy Present Laughter at Clark January 25

Noël Coward’s provocative comedy Present Laughter, starring Andrew Scott (BBC’s Sherlock, Fleabag), airs at the Clark Art Institute on Saturday, January 25, at 1 pm.

As star actor Garry Essendine prepares to embark on an overseas tour, his colorful life is in danger of spiraling out of control. Engulfed by an escalating identity crisis as his many and various relationships compete for his attention, Garry’s few remaining days at home are a chaotic whirlwind of love, sex, panic, and soul searching.

With a slew of five-star reviews, this updated production of Noël Coward’s classic play presents a giddy and modern reflection on fame, desire, and loneliness. This HD broadcast of Present Laughter was captured live from The Old Vic in London, with Matthew Warchus directing.

Tickets are $18 ($16 for Clark members) and can be purchased at clarkart.edu or by phoning 413 458 0524. All ticket sales are nonrefundable.
