Weekend Cocktail Recipes from Nipper

Recently, a good friend shared with me that she misses the happy hour at her local neighborhood restaurant. She realized she really missed being away from screen time and focusing instead on the people around her.

“Just for an hour, you know, to sit and listen to music, watch people, and savor a beverage was more of a luxury than we realized,” she mused.

Nipper suggests for those missing their cocktail hour to set up a virtual party for yourself! Turn off your computer, set down that phone, and turn up the music as you pour yourself a drink from Albany Distilling Company. The local distillery is making cocktails to go from 4 pm – 8 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and Saturdays from 12 pm – 8pm.

The distillery is whipping up drinks like Brooklyn Bourbon, NY Sour, Cranberry Grapefruit Cobbler, Caribbean Sorrel Punch, Strawberry Smash, and Cherry Lemonade.

Scooby Snack Cocktail

1/2 ounce Coconut Rum, 1/2 ounce Creme de Bananas, 1/2 ounce Melon liquor, 1/2 ounce pineapple juice

The Greyhound

1.5 ounces vodka, 3 ounces grapefruit juice

The Regal Beagle

1 1/2 ounces vodka, 2 lime wedges, 1 tsp honey, 5 ounces grapefruit juice, splash of dry white wine

The Bloodhound Martini

1/3 oz gin, 1/3 oz French vermouth, 1/3 oz Italian vermouth, garnish with fresh strawberries
