Stand Up and Be Counted
Did you complete the US Census yet? If yes, great! Your work is done – you get a gold star! Now take a few minutes to peruse our videos. This week we feature an a cappella version of a Beyonce classic, linked a five minute mini-doc about the woman who dressed Hollywood royalty for decades, and visit again with our favorite good doggies, Olive and Mabel.

If you haven’t yet taken the Census – stop reading this, go online and complete the form. We guarantee you’ll feel great knowing you are helping your neighbors and community, and that’s a great way to start the weekend!

Most Celebrated Costume Designer in Film – 5 Minute Minidoc
Edith Head is one of the most celebrated costume designers in Hollywood history. She dressed all the most iconic leading ladies for over five decades, and was the inspiration for Edna Mode in the Pixar animated film The Incredibles.
We are guessing she wouldn’t be a fan of one of the latest trends – the house dress! Yes, according to NPR, it’s making a comeback. Read all about it here: Don’t Sweat(pants) It. The House Dress Is Here To Rescue 2020
The Best Thing You Can Do This Week!
The Arts Center of the Capital Region and Rensselaer County Complete County Committee invited teen creators in Rensselaer County to make short engaging videos promoting the importance of being counted 2020 U.S. Census, which will determine how more than $675 billion federal dollars are distributed to communities across the country.
The Winner? Nicholas Bufi! Nick will start the ninth grade at Troy High School this fall, and received a $1,000 cash prize for this video, which stresses the ways the US Census could impact Rensselaer County, like providing funding for schools, hospitals and roads. Did you take your census yet? It takes just a few minutes to complete and means so much to your city, towns, counties, and neighbors!

Our friends at Nippertown ask the question “Who Did It Better?”:
“I’m on Fire” has been covered by so many artists, it was hard to pick which cover to go with and as you will see, our panelists had a tough time, too. So whether you prefer the Boss’s version to Johnny Cash or Mumford and Sons, AWOL Nation or Tori Amos, hell, even Barry Gibbs did a version, we can all agree “I’m on Fire” was an instant classic much like blue jeans, white t-shirts and a red bandana.”
Olive and Mabel are Back!
Mabel thinks she’s received a great money making email, and dog Dad Andrew Cotter has to explain what kind of scheme she’s falling for. They get a bit sidetracked with the mention of biscuits…
