Stories from a Bar #40, Tim Walton

In the latest Stories From A Bar episode, Chris joined by Schenectady native Tim Walton. If you are familiar with the popular local blog Tim’s NY Kitchen or the popular Facebook groups 518 Brews, 518 Wines, or 518 Great then chances are you know or have seen his name. Tim is one of the most genuinely nice people you’ll meet and has been using his social media prowess to not only help promote local business but raise funds for various causes.

Chris and Tim do some quality day drinking and talk about Tim’s experience coming from a large multicultural family, how it shaped him, developing his love for food, and eventually turning that into his blog Tim’s NY Kitchen. Tim has also gone on to create the Facebook group 518 Brews which has grown to over 10,000 with a focus on promoting NYS craft beer. They also chat about his latest project the collaborative beer 518 Brews Give Back IPA. A project between 518 Brews, Fort Orange Brewing, Indian Ladder Farms, Stump City Brewing, and Wolf Hollow Brewing where $1 of each pint sold will be split between The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and struggling local musicians with the support of Proctor’s.
