Dirt from the Underground
On this day we all received the good news that our state is starting to finally open up, and we are ready for the live music. In just our 9th week of Capital Underground on Nippertown, we have exceeded our own expectations. A one-hour podcast, soon to be hitting the 25,000 listens mark. All we can do is thank the local musicians for creating the tunes, that make Capital Underground worth producing once a week. We would also like to welcome our May sponsor by Albany’s oldest tavern, Pauly’s Hotel Albany. “We have been working on the bar for over a year remodeling this legendary building,” says new owner Kip Finck former owner of Northern Lights, Clifton Park and currently owns Village Tavern in Scotia as well. Pauly’s Hotel revamped the stage, sound, and lights for a better musical experience for the musician and fan. Designed, configured, and perfected by the expertise of Denis Entertainment Group. Check out the all-new website for show listings www.paulys-hotel.com
We want to take a moment and welcome Johnny Morse’s Monday Night Mayhem, That Fuzzing 518 Show and Above Ground Podcast to the Nippertown family. Last Night at the 2020 Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Awards Jim Gilbert & Nippertown won the award for Best Arts Publication. Also walking out with awards was JB aka Dirty Moses, Candy Ambulance, Eastbound Jesus, and The Clay People. Other winners included Promoter Greg Bell, 97.7 &106.1 WEXT DJ Chris Wienk. In other news, the local rock outfit Bad Mothers announced that they are signing with Shooter Jennings- Black Country Rock. While The Erotics, Kid Vicous, Blind Owl Band, Sly Fox &The Hustlers, Brick By Brick, and many other local artists are currently recording or finishing up in the studio as we speak. This is going to be one hell of a summer for new tunes and live music. Capital Underground on Nippertown is now bringing you the best and newest local music that Upstate New York has to offer. Submit your music to Capital Underground or Nippertown for airplay, booking, and press consideration. We are also planning a 15-year anniversary Capital Underground Live show- 100 local bands in one day!
