Josh Young & Emily Padgett to bring Broadway to Saratoga on June 4th

Two of Broadway’s brightest young stars, Tony-nominated Josh Young (Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Les Miserables, Amazing Grace) and Emily Padgett (Legally Blonde, Grease, Flash Dance, Side Show, Bright Star) join forces for an evening of “Broadway at the Movies” to The Mansion of Saratoga on June 4th.

In 2019 Josh Young came to Saratoga to present what became one of the magical moments in The Mansion of Saratoga‘s seven-year history of performances.  Tony-Nominated for his portrayal of Judas in the last Broadway revival of Jesus Christ Super Star, Josh took the stage with a voice that patrons said rivals Josh Groban and a masterful ability to engage through the stories he told between sets.  

The Magic of the night happened when Emily Padgett, Josh’s spouse who traveled with him, unexpectedly took the stage as well to perform.  Charming, charismatic, and brilliantly talented, Emily has starred on Broadway as Daisy Hilton in Sideshow, as Lucy Grant in Bright Star, as Mrs. Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and in Rock of Ages.  At The Mansion she brought the house down with “Over the Rainbow.”

It was a night of Standing Ovations between songs and for an encore – Josh and Emily brought their 1-year-old daughter up on the stage with them for their final number together.  Jeffrey Wodicka of The Mansion didn’t think twice he brought them back again.

Wodicka and the couple discussed the return show with Josh and Emily and they decided that it would be fun to do a performance that involved music from Broadway shows that transitioned to the silver screen. 

The show will be held on the great deck behind The Mansion which is tented for the elements with the walls removed for a beautiful view of the gardens.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the 90 minute  performance starts promptly at 8:00 p.m.   All seating will be at tables of your own party with a minimum of two people using current Covid protocol at the time of performance.  Chef Rick has created a delicious and fun light fare menu which along with our full bar will be available for purchase at 6:30.
