ALBANY — Alive @ Five is happening this year, but not at Jennings Landing.

It’s a virtual thing nowadays. The city is being careful; Albany County is, too. (Yup, masks are now in the past for live events, but the prudent ones still wear them.) Instead, concerts, for the time being, will be live-streamed on the City of Albany Office of Special Events & Cultural Affairs’ Facebook page and Youtube page.

This time out, Ryan Leddick brought his intense and passionate singer-songwriter “vibes” to the fore, with a great percussionist accompanying him to open up the show. The headliner, Erin Harkes, stole that show with her mini-big band and lots of her gusto, in-your-face drive. The woman can sing; boy can she sing, spreading her powerful voice from wall-to-wall doing songs from Aretha Franklin through Tina Turner, even a Led Zeppelin song with aplomb. She even did a few of her originals in the mix-featuring “Ethan,” a triple threat on trombone, keyboards and violin/fiddle.

Check out the event online. Since it’s virtual, the show is still posted.
