Best bet: Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival featuring Cecile McLorin Salvant / Artemis / Al Di Meola / Garland Nelson’s Joyful Noise @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs.

The Jazz Festival is a bit stripped down this year, thanks to Covid. That doesn’t mean it’s not an excellent bill, top to bottom. Starting out with Nippertown’s own Garland Nelson and wrapping up with three-time Grammy winner Cecile McLorin Salvant, there’s no better way to spend an afternoon. And if that’s not enough jazz for you, you can walk over to the Gideon Putnam where the party continues. (12:00)
