LIVE: Tony Trischka and Friends @ The Cock ‘n Bull, 07/16/2021

GALWAY — One of the great joys of summer in Nippertown is the sound of bluegrass in an outdoor setting. I got some of my appetite for this satisfied at the Cock ‘N Bull in Galway when banjo maestro Tony Trischka and his band played on the porch to a patio full of guests. This particular performance had a feel of a house concert with gourmet food served by the attentive staff as an added bonus!

Tony and his band played 2 sets of music that ranged from traditional fiddle tunes (fiddleless), to old-time C&W George Jones covers to Frank Wakefield and Allison Krauss to the delight of all. Vocals were shared by Jake Jolliff (mandolin) and Mike Robinson (guitar).
